Pearson attributes this improvement to the growing popularity of wine, and its changing image. Many people who might have once considered wine a pastime for the rich and snobby are now becoming serious about what they drink. Often when something with a dedicated cult following suddenly becomes popular with the mainstream, the long time enthusiasts become resentful, but Pearson isn’t.
“Wine should be no more intimidating to people them beer.” said Pearson, who sees the rising interest in wine culture as a way to encourage people to support local agriculture.
“Anything to get people to eat and drink something from the region they’re visiting or living in”, said Pearson.
