rain to bum

Virginia’s Burning Law went into effect on February 15 and lasts through April 30. It is illegal to bum before 4 p.m. However, since it’s been so dry it may be wise to not bum at all for awhile.

“Although it is illegal to bum before 4 p.m through April 30th, the Department of Forestry of Virginia recommends, until we get more rain, that you do not bum outdoors. Fires escape easily when it is as dry as it is.”

Birthday wishes go out to Stacy Clark who will celebrate a birthday on Sunday, March 19.

Planning Commission Chairman Gary Schwartz continues to feel better after his surgery. “I was surprised,” said his wife Michelle, “that he was able to hang some new shades.”

The Washington Baptist Church will be having a breakfast, on Saturday, March 25, from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. This will be to raise funds for the WBC Building Renovation Fund. The breakfast will include bacon, eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, and dollar pancakes with whip cream and strawberries.
