This young catcher is looking at the hatter who is next on deck. He is probably wondering if he is a good hitter, likewise, the batter on deck has been waiting for his turn, feeling anxious, getting warmed up, and trying to "feel” his swing. Finally, it is his turn and as he approaches the batter’s box. he looks at his coach for final instructions.
The scenario of life is similar. To live with confidence we must trust God’s hand as He guides us through each day. Though unseen, God is our coach. If we have carefully practiced our batting, we will “feel" a good hit. 2 Corinthians 3:5 tells us, "Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God."
Our “playbook" is the Bible. Practice is each week at your chosen house of worship. We are part of a team that performs with confidence, for we know God has us “next on deck".
