Gustavo Diaz, Director of Sunnyside Institute and General Manager of Sunnyside Farms, recently gave a presentation to the class; Mr. Diaz meets regularly with Ms. Gall and the other teachers and community partners to help plan the curriculum and coordinate student activities at Sunnyside Farm.
Now in its third year at RCHS, Farm-to-Table has outgrown that building and spread to RCES, where Program Coordinator Trista Scheuerlein teaches sixth and seventh grade Agriculture Exploratory classes and works with teachers in other grades as well. Sponsored by the Young Farmland Preservation Fund, the RCES program introduces- gardening to students through Earth Boxes, vermiculture, tree planting, and seed propagation as well as classwork.
