Smoke house Winery will be having their 7th Annual Morel and Mead event on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30 from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Spring Plant Sale
For the fifth year, local and nearby growers will be gathering at Waterpenny Farm in Sperryville, Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This sale offers one stop shopping for annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetable plants, as well as vines, and ornamental shrubs and trees. There will be a good selection of native plants. Other products include garden decorations, flower essences, and grass fed beef, lamb and pastured pork. Delicious bakery products and refreshments will be available throughout the day from Apple Hill Bakery. Participating in the sale are Blue Ridge Botanicals, Eastwoods Nurseries, Enchanter’s Gardens, Field and Flower, Momingside Farm & Nursery, Mount Vernon Farm, Persimmon Springs Nursery, Quail Spring Farm, Straw Into Gold, and Waterpenny Farm. Students from the Rappahannock High School farm 2table project will be selling a variety of plants they have grown. Some of the proceeds from the vendor fees will go to Waterpenny Farm’s low-income share program through the Capital Area Food Bank. Waterpenny Farm is located on Route 211, east of Sperryville.
