Clark is actively involved in developing educational material for todays students through integrating innovative teaching techniques technology. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Florida State University and Masters Degrees in Conduct Composition from James Madison University.
“These commissions don’t happen very often,” said an animated Fournier. “It’s like having our own little window on the world.”
Clark’s composition entitled “Talons of Fire” is already in the hands of the band students at the elementary school and they are busy learning and practicing this spirited piece.
“He has composed a special advanced percussion part for Michael Caporuscio and a special advanced tympani part for John Mills,” said Fournier who has made a reservation for( Clark to stay at the Sycamore Hills Bed and Breakfast! - *
“I want him to enjoy the Rappahannock County scenery while he is here,” exclaimed Fournier who is elated to have this nationally recognized band composer work with her students.
The composition, “Talons of Fire” will be published for all „ school bands in the world to own! * and the dedication line will per-' * manently honor Rappahannock * County Elementary School.
For Fournier, who will be retiring this year from public school teaching, leaving her “last band” with a composition all their own is a gift that she never thought she would be able to give. «
It will be a lasting tribute.
