Track Bid
Rappahannock County resident Bob Benyo of Premier Sports Fields has proposed that his company substitute Bermuda seed for bluegrass sod on the football / soccer field in his contract with the Board of Supervisors. In exchange he will provide subsurface gravel for the track (plus provide field event pits, etc). The sole bidder for the track construction project, Precision Sports Surfaces, Inc., has agreed to reduce its bid from $195,508 to $148,596 by deleting sub-surface gravel for the track (and field event pits, etc). Pending an agreement between County Administrator John McCarthy, Superintendent Bob Chappell and these two construction firms, the School Board has authorized the Superintendent to award the bid to construct the track in an amount not to exceed $150,000.
