May 2: Culpeper Soil and Water

Conservation District meeting

The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District holds its monthly Board of Directors’ meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Meetings location rotates alphabetically through the five counties served by the District-Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock. The meeting will be held on May 2 in Rappahannock at the Town Hall corner of Gay Street and Calvert Streets, Washington. For further information and directions call 825-8591.

May 1-5: Book Fair

Rappahannock County Elementary School will host a Scholastic Book Fair from 8:30-4:00. Families, staff, and the community are invited to the Fair, which will feature a special camping theme: Camp Read a Book—Let the Book Bugs Bite! On Thursday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Book Fair will feature a special Family Event followed by the RCES 5th-7th grade band concert at 7 p.m.

The Book Fair will offer specially priced books and educational products, including new releases, award-winning titles, children’s classics, interactive software, adult books, and current bestsellers from more than 150 publishers. Attendees can help the school build classroom libraries by purchasing books for teachers through the classroom Wish List and One for the Books activities.
