Fire’ will
burn brightly

Lynne Fournier has a passion for music. Her enthusiasm for sharing her passion with her students is a legacy that she will leave in a very special way this year.
Fournier was awarded a Headwaters grant earlier in the year to engage a composer to write a new piece of concert music for the Rappahannock County Elementary School 2006 group of sixth and seventh graders.
It was to celebrate their unanimous superior rating that they garnered at a competition ]■' last year.
While attending a Helen Williams summer studies program at Villanova University, Fournier met a nationally known band composer, Larry Clark.
Not only is Clark composing an original piece for the school’s band but he is coming to spend a day working with them as they prepare to present it at the May 4 Spring Concert.
Clark, who has composed hundreds of pieces for school bands across the country, specializes in composing music for bands and orchestras suitable for their respective ages.
