John Early had worked for a carpet business in Arlington and Merrifield. It’s a long commute now — back then it was really long.
After enduring the loss of one of their six children, the Earlys changed their priorities. They wanted to keep everyone close to home.
Back during the mid-’60s, only two furniture stores and one construction business provided carpet to the area. The Earlys seized the opportunity.
