May 20: Spring Bird Walk
RLEP’s Biodiversity Task Force will be sponsoring a Spring Bird Walk on May 20 at Caledonia Farm, near Shenandoah National Park and on the Virginia Wildlife and Birding Trail. Alan Williams, ecologist and data manager for Shenandoah National Park, will lead the walk. He’ll help attendees spot and identify migratory birds returning to Rappahannock County from the south for the summer or passing through on their way further north. Other native wildlife are likely to be in view as well. The event is free, but reservations are required, since the group size needs to be kept small.
