Offering just carpet and vinyl flooring, they opened serving Fauquier, Culpeper and Rappahannock counties.
In 1969, the small enterprise started to grow. The Earlys built a store next door and by 1971, a warehouse was added to the back. The addition expanded the store from 3,200 square feet to 11,400 square feet.
The huge facility now houses the stock flooring, remnants and a large cutting machine.
Around that time, the couple also purchased a gas station in Culpeper to use as a second showroom. The remodeled building won an award from the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce.
