Mineral rights might be another attractive play. Indians and White settlers were inter• ested in gold in the mountains so why not you? Early prospectors from both groups found copper and mined it successfully. Could coal or oil be that farfetched?
Perhaps you’re looking for a splendid little 3-acre farmette; kick back, raise a few tomatoes, maybe some elderberries for homemade wine, and perhaps a dozen or so miniature Tribbles to foster a new pet craze, but watch out, those little critters multiply, just ask Capt. Kirk. The supply of these tiny bucolic gems is more limited, however one does occasionally come across a ‘find’ in this more downscale market, but the checkbook had still better be quite plump.
You might also be into the newest American real estate craze: mega-cluster development. Squeeze beaucoup of those big babies onto lots almost literally no bigger than, gasp, a postage stamp! Now we’re talking some bang for one’s buck, at least in terms of $/square.
