Strategic Planning
The Rappahannock NonProfit Center is pleased to announce a half-day workshop on strategic planning for nonprofits on Wednesday, May 31 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Public Library.
RNPC is honored to have as the workshop leader, Ms. Alaina Love, a resident of Rappahannock County and an experienced strategic planning facilitator. Ms. Love is the president of HRx Renaissance Consortium, Inc. (www.hrxrenaissance.com), where she consults with businesses on how they can help their employees bring more meaning to their work by aligning their work with their individual purpose connecting it to the purpose of the organization in order to achieve strategic goals.
The half day workshop will look closely at the strategic planning process; how creating a mission/vision, identifying key strategies, and key results are crucial to a successful strategic plan. Using a business model for strategic planning, Ms. Love will lead the group through a SWOT analysis, examining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to their organization. The groups will be challenged to ask themselves: Where does your organization need to get results in order to realize its strategic plan? Initial core strategies for each organization will be identified and individuals will leave with the foundation necessary to finish writing their strategic plan with the input of other key members of their organization.
RNPC will be underwriting the costs for the workshop ensuring attendance for all churches, community organizations and 501c3nonprofits.
RNPC executive director, Bridget Chisholm said, “When I met Ms. Love last fall I knew right away we wanted to tap her leadership skills for our nonprofit community and when she agreed to lead the workshop, well, I was ecstatic. I encourage all the churches, community organizations and nonprofits to come and learn from her. It is gong to be a powerful 5 hours.”
