Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak is retired from the Fairfax County Police Department.
“It was an honor to be able to help these people who I have known and worked with for years,” she said. “There was nothing we wouldn’t have done to help them get through this. So many (Fairfax) officers were so deeply affected by this, we didn’t want them to be worried about anything when they came into the county.”
Novak also said she was grateful for both the “outpouring of support” for the visiting officers at a reception at Fauquier High School following the burial, and the general support from Fauquier County residents.
“It was tremendous,” she said.
