Few events in Rappahannock County are more worthy or inspiring than the “Relay for Life” organized each year by dedicated volunteers in our community. The Relay is a celebration of cancer survivorship and community spirit like none others.
This year’s event, at the Rappahannock County Elementary School, begins promptly at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, and continues throughout the evening. Many stay overnight for the final closing ceremonies with continental breakfast on Sunday morning where the teams that met their fund raising goals as well as those top fund-raising teams will be recognized.
The Relay for Life also includes an always delicious buffet picnic around 5:30 p.m., good music, and notables from the community who appear throughout the evening. Luminaries are lighted at dusk in honor or memory of
