“The Taste” is, in effect, MacNelly’s irreverent cartoon characters from his cartoon strip “Pluggers,” created in 1993 and later given to his friend Gary Brookins at the Richmond Times Dispatch, who continues to draw the strip to this day. There they are in all their glory - flipping hamburgers, at the wheel of a pickup truck, or in some discourse with incredible animal personalities that quickly bring a smile and chuckle.
