With mares now pregnant, foals by their side, yearlings being prepped, 2-year-olds getting ready for the races, the thoroughbred cycle goes on, influenced as much by the season as by anything else.
This year’s foals are with their mothers now, but soon they will be weaned and assembled into their own peer groups. There they will roughhouse and tear around their paddocks, testing their legs and developing their competitiveness,
