Tbotsi has limited economic options in the shantytown of Johannesburg. His gang includes Butcher (Zenzo Ngqobe), his lifelong friend Aap (Kenneth Nkosi) and the harddrinking Boston (Mothusi Magano), who dreamed of becoming a schoolteacher. One night Tbotso steals a car, shoots the owner, drives off into the Johannesburg night, and then hears the cries of an infant coming from the back seat.
