Two new coaches, Eric Brown and John Neph, enter the coaching staff for Rappahannock County Public School athletics for the 20062007 sporting season.
John Neph, who will be teaching science to sixth graders, is also the new freshman football coach. He was interested in coaching as soon as he knew he had a teaching job for Rappahannock County Public Schools.
“I told Raye Tupper that I wanted to coach as well, and she got me in touch with the Athletic Department,” Neph said.
Neph played football in high school and coached 13 years of varsity baseball and six years of football after going to college in Spring Arbor, Michigan.
“I love it,” Neph exclaimed shortly after a freshman football practice.
“I like teaching the kids in the classroom and working with them out in the field.” Brown will head up
wrestling program
Brown, who was recently appointed as the school’s new wrestling coach, is the director for the Cobra Little League wrestling team in Culpeper. This is Brown’s sixth year as the director of the league that he runs with his friend Eddie Jenkins.
