APPRAISER
The Loudoun County Assessor's Office is seeking motivated, professionals to join a team oriented work environment. Primary responsibilities will focus on appraising real property. The position requires the use of accepted appraisal standards and methodology in accordance with state laws, county ordinances and office policies. Core responsibilities include field review and analysis of sales data, appraising new and miscellaneous construction projects, and participating in the general reassessment process. The position also requires participation in administrative review and In the Board of Equalization hearing process as well as general contact with the public regarding inquiries concerning real estate assessments. The successful candidate will maintain knowledge of local property trends, state and local laws and modern appraisal/assessment methods through course attendance as offered to staff. A working knowledge of MS Office software and CAMA systems is preferred. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years residential or commercial assessment or appraisal experience or related experience. A combination of experience and education equivalent to 6 years experience appraising all residential classes may be substituted for education and licensing requirements. A licensed residential, certified-residential, or certified-general appraiser and/or professional designation in real estate appraisal or real estate assessment are preferred. Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions. Ability to traverse undeveloped and developed land. Possession of a valid driver's license is required. Successful candidate will undergo credit record, criminal background, and driving record checks.
