Helping Hands
Many organizations, businesses, and individuals volunteered food and/or services for “Rappahannock Night,” including: the Blue Rock Inn, The Public House, Pizza Hut, Melting Pot, Papa John’s, Muskrat Haven Farm, The Country Cafe, F. T. Valley Grocery, Griffin Tavern, Settle’s Grocery and Garage, Ester Settle, Arland Welch, Jan Makela, Dorothy Hackley, The Inn at Little Washington, Sandra Jenkins, Josh Makela and Abdullah Alawadhi, and the Washington Baptist Church Sojourners For Christ Sunday School Class*, •-* .'
Monetary donations to help continue this tradition were provided by The Rappahannock National Bank, BB & T Bank at Flint Hill, Hampton Foundation, Pat Sher, Barbara Sanders, Janet and Larry Dunn, Linda Torrance, Carol Hackley, Alice Hitt, Edie & Frank Fishback, Ned & Carolyn Van Dyck, Doris Fowler, AUMC Congregation, Leon Hackley, and other anonymous donors. In addition, Donna Brune, owner of Persimmon Springs Florist in Huntly, made and donated the beautiful arrangements and a centerpiece for the tables. Kathy Gangel donated film and circulated throughout the evening with a camera, capturing the event for the committee’s much-looked at scrapbook. Kaitlyn Jenkins donated prizes for the campers. And there were 30 plus volunteers who cooked the food, put up the decorations, and policed the site after the party.
