Jenkins, Ester Settle, Jan Makela, Marie Davis, and Jim Blubaugh from the Lions Club. The co-coordinators for Rappahannock Night, as in past years, were Bev Atkins and Jan Besecker.
Rappahannock volunteers chose a “Circus” theme for this year’s party. Volunteers put together goody bags that were given to each camper that contained wigs, shoes, glasses, pens, and balls. Charlotte Tummeyer and Geneva Welch did a land-office business with their artful and ever-popular face painting. Captain Jeff Brown of the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office brought his snow cone machine and his daughter handed out snow cones throughout the evening.
Howard Massey turned out dozens of cotton candy sticks that were a big hit with campers and adults alike. And very danceable rockabilly music was provided as a gift by the Blues Fuze band and many, including the camp counselors and 4-H volunteers, “danced the night away!”
