Going home
Many of the students were pleased with their overall experience in the schools, especially alter they made fast friends within the county. “I kind of don’t want to go back,” said Christensen. “I have a lot of friends here.” Others spoke about the kindness that they experienced from their host families. “I would come and do the program again, if I knew I had the same host family” said Baig.
Belhaj expressed similar sentiments.
“I will miss all of the people in my host family,” she said, noting that she was fond of the younger kids in her host family. “They keep asking me when I am coming back.” Many of the students said they would like to come and visit in the future. “It was a lot harder to leave from here than it was to leave my home,” admitted Junilson Brito hum Salvador, Brazil who said that he still looked forward to returning to Brazil. “I see myself coming back someday, maybe when its snowing,” he added with a laugh.
