Lisa Sharon Batchelder
hannock County, Virginia. She will be evermore adored by cousins Christina and Benjamin Luke, of Rappahannock County, as well as Samuel, Martha, Jackson, David and the little Miss Jane Batchelder of Pittsburgh.
Lisa enjoyed music, hiking, spending time with family, and meeting friends for sushi. She took great pleasure in her academic work, rarely leaving home without at least one of her textbooks! At the time of her death, she was residing in Richmond, Virginia.
Her memorial service concluded with the release of white doves; a breathtaking image representing the previously departed loved ones who would accompany Lisa’s spirit Their flight was made more poignant when, before disappearing off into the horizon, these exquisite birds dipped gracefully over a very special place in Little Washington: the home of her late grandfather, Roger, whom she revered, and her grandmother, Jane.
How fitting that the doves’ flight came so close to one of Lisa’s safe havens, and in doing so provided a moment reminiscent of her earthly beauty, unassuming, and evocative.
