Mike Ryan, a Navy Seal, member of the Honor Guard and husband of Susan Estes Ryan, has lost 24 out of a group of 2000 Navy Seals with injuries to many others. For him the installation of the monument is important because it gives the county a definitive place for honoring veterans for the sacrifices they have made.
