The Rappahannock County varsity baseball team, however, did not answer
Buffalo Gap, winners of the Shenandoah District, scored twice in the second inning and right-hander Josh Wenger out dueled left-hander Ethan Russell to lead the Bison to a 2-1 victory over the Panthers in the opening round of the Region B tournament.
The defeat ended Rappahannock County's season at 13-9.
“We had plenty of opportunities against Buffalo Gap,” Rappahannock County
head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “It just wasn’t meant to be. I thought we were the better team, but with a one-game playoff there’s no tomorrow.” -
