This might be what they call darned if you do, and darned if you don’t, or Some saying that goes about that way.
And let’s get one thing straight. Our school board and our school superintendent are just doing their jobs. For my part, I want the school board and the school administration to be strong proponents for our schools, our teachers and, most importantly, our children. I want them fighting for every advantage they can get for the school children.
If the people in charge of raising and spending your tax money choose to' open the county coffers and say take what you want, you can’t blame the school board and the school administration.
But, as far as I know, Rappahannock is still a wonderful place to five. Yes, it is getting more expensive, and if the past is prologue, it looks like you can just about depend on your taxes going up every year. If you are feeling the sting, please hang on as long as you can. Every dog has its day and people are getting more involved and more knowledgeable. Perhaps the mounting collective wisdom will win out in the end. Yeah, that’s right, people getting smarter and more involved. That has to be a good thing for participative democracy.
