of the students missed was the the lack of public transportation. “Transportation here is so weird,” remarked Camilla Christensen, a student from Denmark. “There are no buses, no taxis and no trains. . .you have to ask for a ride anytime that you want to go somewhere and have it all planned out days in advance.”
Christenson, however, enjoyed working with horses and even trained a horse for her host family. “Most of the things that I did at home was competition arena type stuff” she said. “It was nice to be able to ride around the huge open fields and take rides in the park. Christensen said that the terrain in Denmark is almost entirely flat. “I am really going to miss all of the mountains,” she said.
Aima Baig, a girl from Hunza, Pakistan said that she missed the mountain terrain in Hunza. “The mountains here are like small hills compared to the ones that I have back home,” she said with a smile. Baig said that her home was similar to Rappahannock County, and that she was suited to the peaceful rural life. “I spent some of my spare time working in the gardens with my host mother,” she said.
