tests that students take is tallied and divided the number of graduating seniors. Testing data for the most recent index results are from 2007. Last year students at Rappahannock high school took 149 advanced tests and 88 seniors graduated, giving Rappahannock an index rating of 1.932. The Washington Post reported that an index rating above 1 places a school in the top 5 percent of schools nationwide. Measured on a district level, Rappahannock was ranked 8th out of 27 school districts in the Washington metropolitan area. Most of the top ten schools on the index are located in the Arlington, Fairfax or Montgomery school districts.
