where our cars were parked and a wire was coiled near my mom’s car. That’s when she told Roger to walk me over to my grandparents’ house nearby. As we were leaving, being very careful to stay far away from the wires, I was worried about my mom who stayed behind waiting for the police and firemen to arrive. By this time the fire had burned through the driveway and the fire was so hot it turned the gravel into glass.
As it turned out, a major power transformer had exploded and power was out around the county, and the police had to block off the whole street. Even the school was delayed opening the next morning. It was a very scary experience, but fortunately, no one was hurt?™
