planning to restrict eating out. If you eat out four days a week, it may not be practical to think that you’ll suddenly stop altogether. But dropping back to eating out twice a week will certainly improve your health and could inspire you to cut back even further.
The problem with eating out, Dodge explained, is that portions, for the most part, are too big. Additionally; the amount of fat and calories in the food is beyond your control.
Eat three meals a day. Dodgesaid it is critical to eat three meals plus snacks throughout the day. Skipping meals is harmful, she said, because becoming ravenous leads to overeating at the next sitting.
Try a new vegetable every week. With more healthy choices, dieting becomes easier.
Eat fruit for dessert. Fruit can be a sweet, satisfying, and healthy ending to your meal.
Eat brown versions of bread, rice, and pasta. Vastly more healthy than its white counterpart, brown breads, rices, and pasta are packed with nutrients and are, in fact, more filling.
Limit soda. A12-ounce can of soda contains about 12 packets of sugar, said Dodge. Drink water instead. Most people need six to eight eight-ounce glasses of water a day, she said.
Downgrade your milk. If you’re currently drinking whole milk, try switching to 2 percent and if you’re drinking 2 percent, drop down to 1 percent, Dodge said, noting that the lacto6e-free versions offer the same health benefits.
Chose whole fruit instead of fruit juice. Withloads more nutrients, including fiber, whole fruit is by far the healthier choice.
