2007 Citizens
of the Year
Rappahannock County is blessed with not
only scenic wealth but a bounty of generous
spirits and good hearts who contribute to the community in many ways.
Volunteerism ranks as a full-time occupation for many.
This year’s selection goes to not one but two dynamic individuals.
The Rappahannock News 2007 Citizens of the Year are Bill and Linda Dietel.
The Dietels have called Rappahannock County their home for over 25 years and during that time have shown time and time again what commitment to their community is all about.
Probably at the top of the Dietels list is their unwavering support of all things educational whether it’s speaking out at a public hearing, fund raising efforts for the Child Care Learning Center or sitting on the boards of groups where they can exert their influence to make things happen.
No matter what the occasion where you might happen to see them, the Dietels bring with them charisma, charm and unwavering support for the many people and projects that they have wrapped their arms around and continue to promote.
Long recognized as caring and conscientious community advocates, the Dietels are long overdue for this recognition as outstanding citizens of the year.
