Write, call or e-mail Del. Todd Gilbert and Sen. Mark Obenshain to express your support for a) the amendment to 22.1-98.2, which would allow the schools to get more state funding in exchange for working with other counties to save money; and b) the budget amendment for Rappahannock County to receive the Cost of Competing adjustment (COCA). Del. Gilbert and Sen. Obenshain support the county’s efforts but they need to hear from you. You may wish to contact other state legislators, too.

You can also participate in the “Rapp Caravan to the General Assembly” in February (date to be announced) to show strength in numbers at the General Assembly committee hearings to be held in Richmond. To participate in the caravan contact Bob Chappell (work - 987-8773, home - 987-8054 or e-mail - rchappell@rappahannock.kl2. va.us) or John McCarthy (jwmccarthy@rappahannockcountyva.gov).
