passed away on Tuesday December 25. 2007 al Sunnyside Presbyterian Nursing Home Mrs Biddle was born in Bismarck. ND. on April I. 1916 She attended elementary school in Chase ley. ND. and graduated from Fessenden High School in 1933. Her family moved to California, where Hazel graduated from San Jose State University with a BS degree in 1937 She mamed Maurice F Biddle on September 4. 1937. and their early married life was spent in California, where Mrs Biddle worked as a legal secretary in San Jose. When Col (then Ll ) Biddle was transferred to Hawaii. Mrs Biddle was active in Officers’ Wives Club activities; in Japan she was Secretary, then President of the Itazuke Officers' Wives Club She was also active in Base Thrift Shop administration and Teenage Club management
After Colonel Biddle retired and they moved to Rappahannock County. VA. Mrs Biddle was Secretary, then Vice-President of the Rappahannock County Garden Club. Secretary, later Committee Chairman of two committees of the Culpeper Minute Man Chapter. National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution She was also secretary of the Rappahannock Chapter of the American Cancer Society and later chairman of the Cancer Loan Closet for 7 years She served on the Board of Trustees of the Rappahannock County Public Library and was the secretary of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection She was preceded in death by her husband. Colonel MauriceF. Biddle, and her parents Cecil C and Eda Laura Wiley Bold She was also preceded m death by two sisters. Carol Warner and Dorothy O'Neill, and one brother, Lee W Bold. Survivors inc lude a son. Timothy M Biddle of Purcellvtlle. VA; a daughter, Susan Jeanne (Biddle) Riley of Syracuse. NY. and 7 Grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren She is also surv ived by one brother. Robert C Bold of Sacramento. CA. Graveside services will he held at 10 am on Monday December 31. 2007 at the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper. VA with Father Leo Zonneveld officiating Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg is'handling the arrangements
