Lincoln And Communism

The simple things of life were the foundation f o r Lincoln's thinking and important decisions. While walking down the street one day, a goat which had been bewildered by some boys, attempted to butt him off his feet. Lincoln stooped o\er and grabbed the goat by both horns and put his face close to the goat's and slowly drawled: “Now there isn't any good reason why you should want to harm me; and there isn't &ny good reason why I should want to harm you. The world is big enough for both of us to live in. If you behave yourself as you ought to, and if I behave myself like I ought to, we'll get along without a cross word or action and we’ll live in peace and harmony like good neighbors." He then dropped the goat over the high fence and walked off.
