Tl'.e Honorable Bun P. Hamson, Winchester, 7th Congressional district representative, and I)r. W. S. A’cwman, president of VPI, have been named banquet speakers for the annual poultry conference at Winchester, February 1 :> and lb.
The addresses are scheduled for evening sessions*. February 15. Representative Harrison’s topic is “Legislation Affecting ese Poultry Industry.” I)r. Newman will speak on “VPI and the poultry Industry.”
The invocation will be given by S. L. Dodd, county agent, Moorfield, W. V'a. and the introd.ction of special guests by I’. H. Sprenkle, Winchester. Dr. A. T. Hawthorne, Winchester, will act as toastmaster.
The conference is the fourth to be sponsored by the Poultry Improvement Council of the Winchester Area. Council representatives come from Shenandoah, Clarke, Loudoun, Frederick, and Warren counties in Virginia, and from Hardy, Jefferson, Berkely. Hampshire, and Morgan counties in West Virginia.
The first day’s sessions will feature addresses and discussions on chicken and broiler production and marketing. Scheduled speakers include: Dr. H. R. Bird, Agricultural Research Center, BeltsviUe, Md.; Dr. E. P. Johnson, animal pathologist, VPI; J. W. Kinghorne, assistant director, PMA poultry brafich, Washington; Frank Frazier Richmond, executive secretary, Virginia State Poultry Federation; 'and William Shaffer, Maurertown. Federation president.
