Gen. Omar N. Bradley
General Omar N. Bradley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Defense, will receive the Veterans of Foreign Wars gold citizenship medal for his outstanding contribution to national security at a Congressional dinner to be held at the Statler Hotel, Washington, D.C., February 15. It will inaugurate the first of a series of such annual awards.
This occasion will highlight the annual two-day National Officers’ and Department Commanders’ Conference, scheduled for February 15-16. All Department Commanders, National officers and a number of the top national committees will hold discussions throughout the two days mapping V.F.W. strategy for the ensuing months.
Members of Congress who are veterans will be the Special guests of the organization at the February loth dinner. It is expected that some 250 Representatives and Senators will attend.
An invitation has been extended to President Harry S. Truman to address the dinner guests. It is expected that he will be present if official business does not prevent his participation in the affair.
