Rappahannock County High School’s girls track team captured the regional title Saturday in competition at Fluvanna High School. Their team score was 54‘/i compared to the 46 points accrued by second place Central of Woodstock. The region encompasses Skyline and James River Districts.
At approximately 8:50 Saturday morning, May 13, the RCHS Panthers track participants, who would have normally stayed in bed until noon due to a tough week, were obliged to board bus 21 for the Region B track meet at Fluvanna High School.
It rained on and off all afternoon, but the Panthers came through victorious, though very soggy. The twelve girls and two boys of Varsity, coaches and managers, and a good number of faithful fans put forth enough effort to keep Rappahannock at the top, with some leftover for next week's State track meet.
