In a listing of “Some of the Best,” The Inn at Little Washington is singled out along with 26 other restaurants as providing fare that rivals the best of such gourmet-conscious cities as New York, New Orleans and San Francisco. The Star noted that its determination of the area’s finest restaurants was based on food, service, setting and overall consistency.
The Inn at Little Washington stands out on the Star’s list of “Some of the Best” as practically the only restaurant with an English name. The rest require an education in foreign languages to decipher ranging from Chinese (Hu Yuan) to French (Charcuterie Normande) to Italian (Lido De Venezia).
If this recognition in the big city daily papers continues, summer will see hordes of hungry people milling around Washington, waiting for seats at The Inn. It looks like O’Connell and Lynch have certainly put Rappahannock County on the culinary map.
