Wakefield Art

Show Winners

Wakefield students won a majority of the prizes in the annual Art Show held at Wakefield on Saturday for area students in grades one through nine.

Displayed in the show was the art work of students from Grymes Memorial School, Orange; Powhatan School, Boyce; Highland School, Warrenton; Hill School, Middleburg; Leslie Fox Keyser School, Front Royal; and Wakefield School.

In the category of photography, first and third place awards went to Matt Black of Wakefield. Sarah Hodgkin of Highland won second prize.

In drawing and paintingprimary division, the first place winner was Wendy Melville of Grymes. The second place was won by Ellen Ober of Grymes; and the third place award, by Ryan Barnes of Wakefield and Trey Leinbach of Powhatan. 1 In drawing and paintingintermediate division, Pamela Drake of Powhatan won first place, followed by Margaret Holliday of Wakefield, and Eric Jorgensen of Grymes.

In drawing and paintingupper division, Amelie Von Ludwig of Wakefield won the first place award, followed by Joy Andreasen of Wakefield, and John Button of Grymes.
