To the editor: It has been reported in the Rappahannock News that the Supervisors do not plan to hold a special public meeting on the school budget. Although a special meeting on the school budget is not a requirement, state law does require a public hearing be held on the county budget. The school budget, being a part of the county budget, should be discussed at that time.
Even if it were not public law, it would seem reasonable that the supervisors would want to know what the public feeling is on any budget. A natural procedure to look for this public input is made possible through a public hearing. It would also seem reasonable that this public hearing be held at a time when most members of the community would be able to attend.
In light of the present controversy, I will look for a scheduled evening meeting for public input into the county budget.

On Warts
To the editor:
In response to your article about warts, I can’t resist passing on a remedy for plantar warts without the use of radiation, electrosurgery or freezing.
The easy and safe treatment involves the use of external vitamin C, applied daily on the warts for 10-14 days. Improvement can be seen within just one week. By adding a few drops of water to several crushed 500 mg vitamin C tablets, a paste is made (fresh for each application) which is spread on the affected area.
It’s worth a try before considering more drastic and possibly hazardous treatments.
I hope you’ll pass on this remedy to those in need.
