Convention

A delegation from the Rappahannock Lions Qub attended the annual Lions of Virginia convention in Norfolk last week. President Phil Butten, president-elect Howdy Holschuh, secretary Bob Ingle and treasurer-elect William "Yogi" Bear and his wife Karen joined 1.200 other Lions at the Hotel Omni from May 10 to 13.

The Rappahannock club placed fourth out of 78 organizations in Northern Virginia District 24-A in competition for the outstanding club award. In addition, Bob Ingle received a “100 per cent secretary" award.

Howdy Holschuh, as incoming president, participated in an induction ceremony conducted by Joseph McLoughlin, president of Lions International. Virginia Governor John Dalton was the featured speaker at the convention.
