Leonard

Mrs. Margaret Leonard of Indialantic, Fla. died May 3, 1978 in a hospital there. She was a Major in the Army Nurse Corps where she served 23 years before retiring, and had tours of duty in Panama and Iceland among other places. Her husband, Francis Leonard, pre-deceased her. She was a native of Atlanta, Ga. Her maiden name was Margaret Willis.

Mrs. Leonard was a resident for a number of years in Rappahannock, living in Amissville where she established Lullwater Nursery, renovated a former store building and opened a gift shop in the section which presently houses the Amissville Post Office. She was very active in the Rappahannock Garden Club and established a senior student scholarship in memory of her late husband. Funeral services were held Monday, May 8 in Arlington National Cemetery.
