The Rappahannock teams had never competed with some of the schools from the James River District in regular competition this year. Schools such as Cumberland, Fluvanna, Clover Hill, Powhatan, Prince Edward County and Goochland were unfamiliar to some of the Panthers in terms of accomplishments.
Rappahannock’s Jamelle Prudhum contributed a great deal as she accumulated 22‘/i points. She placed first in the 440 with 59.3 and the 220 with 26.0. She placed well in the field events, high jumping 4'8” for sixth place and long jumping 1S’3'’ for fifth, and will compete at the State meet this weekend at West Albermarle High School, Charlottesville. Events in which Jamelle will compete include the 440, 220, long jump, and she will anchor the mile relay. She was State Champion of the 440 last year.
