The help. that Rappahannock can expect to receive from Planning District 9 on the county’s comprehensive plan will be on a "catch as catch can” basis.
At last Thursday's meeting in Culpeper, the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commissioners emphasized that they favored lending all possible support in developing Rappahannock's comprehensive plan but only within PD9’s "present resource capability.”
Col. E. P. Luke, Rappahannock's representative on the Commission, announced that the county Planners had finally decided that they needed help on formulating a comprehensive plan and had asked PD9 for assistance. “I think, but I can’t guarantee, that I can talk the Board (of Supervisors) into coming up with $1,000 or $1,500.” said Luke, who also serves as chairman of the Rappahannock Supervisors.
"We know you’re always awfully generous over there,” joked Commission Chairman Stan Haworth of Warrenton, sparking laughter from the other PEW members.
