grading period in January. It should be emphasized that the reading instruction received under Miss Sweetland will be in addition to reading instruction received from the regular cjassroom teacher. In other words, students involved in the Title I lab will have two reading periods on the days they have lab. It is felt that the “double dose” is necessary to develop the skills essential to be successful in the regular classroom.
The Primary Resource Reading Laboratory, when fully operational, will serve approximately sixty students daily and will replace the Open Court program being phased out this year. Many of the students being served by Open Court this year are expected to be referred to the lab next year.
For the older elementary students, two Title I instructional programs are available - one math and one reading.
The Resource Skills Developmental Laboratory for Math. Grades 4-7, in its second year of operation, provides a "double dose" of mathematical concepts and computational skills for approximately thirty-eight students. Under the very able leadership of Mrs. Molly Hobson, assisted by Mrs.
