daily in the High Intensity Learning Center, Grades 812. With the emphasis this year on “minimum compentencies,” the high school lab assumes adding importance.
Overall, approximately 280 students will be involved in some phase of the Title I program. Based on our needs assessment, we have others who would benefit from the program, but because of limited personnel and classroom space, priority must go to those most in need of supplemental assistance. One area which the local Title 1 Parent Advisory Council will be asked to address this year is how we might better utilize dollars to maximize the benefits available to the children of Rappahannock County.
Parents desiring additional information on the Title I program are asked to contact the elementary school (9878259), high school (987-8575) or Dr. Robert McDaniel, Assistant Superintendent and Title I Director at the School Board Office (987-8773). Parents of children currently involved in the program are encouraged to contact the child's teacher for any specific information they might need.
Since education is the joint responsibility of parent and teacher, parents will be kept informed of student progress on report forms which are additions to the regular report in order that the parents can reinforce the learning process at home.
