EMT Course

An Emergency Medical Tecnician coune i* being scheduled in November for those interested. For more information on the course contact Pat Biggs, Flint Hill at 675-3658 or Jack Atkins, Amissville at 937-5282. The course consists of 72 hours of class instruction with 10 hours hospital training.

Record Fees Up

The Virginia Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics has announced that fees for certified copies of birth, death, marriage, and divorce records will be increased from $2 to $3 effective October 1,1978. The new fee schedule, established by the State Board of Health as a result of action by the 1978 General Assembly, also provides fees be charged for certain other services involving vital statistics records. A service charge of S5, which includes the issuance of one certified copy of the record, will be required for preparation of new birth certificates following adoption, legitimation, or court determination of paternity; establishing a delayed registration of birth or court order registration of birth; and amending or correcting a record.

Copies of birth and death records issued by local health departments throughout the State will also require the $3 fee.
