Apple Pie
4 to 6 apples
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
l‘/i cups sugar
1 tablespoon water
‘/j cup butter
2 eggs separated
\'A cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder

1 cup milk

Peel, core and slice enough of the apples to cover the bottom of a large 9 inch deep pie dish with a thick layer. Put a pie bird or a piece of stiff paper rolled into a tube or funnel into the middle of the apples. Mix 'A cup of the sugar with the cinnamon. Sprinkle this over the apples, along with the tablespoon of water. Cover the pie dish with its own cover or a piece of foil, and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
